What homeowners ask before starting

Every project is different. Cost depends on the size of the space, the layout, and the features you choose whether that’s cabinetry and countertops for a kitchen, custom showers and tile for a bathroom, or a wet bar and built-ins for a basement. After meeting with you and discussing your goals, we’ll provide a detailed proposal with transparent pricing no surprises.

Timelines vary by project. Bathroom remodels typically take 3 to 6 weeks once construction begins, while kitchen and basement remodels typically take 6 to 10 weeks. Larger or more complex projects, custom material lead times, and inspections can extend the schedule we’ll walk you through a realistic timeline during your consultation.

Yes, in most cases. Kitchen, bathroom, and basement projects that involve electrical, plumbing, or structural changes typically require permits to ensure the work meets local building codes. We handle the permitting process and coordinate all required inspections for your permit; fees are paid by the homeowner and are separate from your project cost, which we’ll outline clearly in your proposal.

It depends on the project. Basement remodels take place in a separate area of the home, so most clients continue living comfortably throughout. Kitchen and bathroom remodels are more disruptive since you’ll lose use of that space, we’ll help you plan around it, whether that’s a temporary cooking setup for a kitchen or working around a second bathroom if you have one.

We take extra precautions to minimize dust by using protective barriers, floor coverings, and daily cleanup procedures. While some dust is unavoidable during construction, we work hard to keep the rest of your home clean.

Before construction begins, we inspect for signs of moisture or water intrusion particularly important for basements and bathrooms. If we find anything unexpected once work is underway, such as hidden water damage behind tile or flooring, we’ll stop, explain what we found, and discuss the appropriate repair before moving forward. We won’t proceed without your approval. Additional cost and time to completion.

Basements: If you’re adding a bedroom, Pennsylvania code requires an egress window we’ll evaluate this during your consultation. Ceiling height also varies by home; we’ll let you know what your space allows. We recommend radon testing before finishing a basement, since finishing changes airflow in ways that can affect radon levels.

Kitchens: We can work within your existing layout or relocate plumbing and electrical for more design flexibility, such as a larger island. We help guide appliance selection, though appliances are typically homeowner-purchased unless we agree otherwise to your proposal.

Bathrooms: Proper waterproofing for showers and tubs is essential, and we follow current code requirements for shower pans, wall systems, and ventilation to manage moisture and prevent mold.

Yes. We work with you to create a space that matches your lifestyle, needs, and budget whether you have a clear vision or need inspiration, we’ll guide you through every step of the design process.

It depends on the space. For basements, we typically recommend flooring built for below-grade environments, like luxury vinyl plank (LVP), engineered flooring, or moisture-resistant carpet. For kitchens, we work with a range of countertop and cabinetry options, from quartz and laminate to fully custom cabinetry. For bathrooms, we typically recommend porcelain or ceramic tile and other moisture-resistant materials. We’ll help you balance style, durability, and budget for your specific project.

Changes are common. If you decide to add or modify something during the project, we’ll discuss the options, explain any cost or schedule impacts, and provide a written Change Order approval before moving forward.

Your proposal includes a clear payment schedule based on project milestones. You’ll always know what to expect before work begins.
